The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted approval of Rebetol as a separately marketed product for use in combination with Intron A® (Interferon alfa-2b) or PEG-Intron^TM (peginterferon alfa-2b) for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C.^1,2 PharmaCare, a specialty pharmacy with reimbursement and pharmacy care expertise, is one of the first pharmacies to have Rebetol available for your patients. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Rebetol (ribavirin) is a synthetic nucleoside analog with an antiviral activity.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Rebetol is dosed according to the patientÕs body weight. The recommended dose of Rebetol is as follows:

• Intron A:
  3MU, SubQ or IM, TIW
• Rebetol oral capsules:
  < or = 75 kg or 165 lb = 1000mg/day or 400mg in the morning and 600mg in the evening
  > 75 kg or 165 lb = 1200mg/day or 600mg in the morning and evening

• Rebetol oral capsules:
  800mg/day or 400mg in the morning and evening
• PEG-Intron:
  1.5µg/kg SubQ, once weekly in combination with Rebetol.

AVAILABILITY:
Rebetol 200 mg capsules are packaged in 600mg, 800mg, 1000mg and 1200mg in bottles of 42, 56, 70, 84 capsules.
